Kit!{s/t} CDEP
Kit! is a female fronted melodic punk band heavily influenced by Discount, but mixed with neo-wave dance parts. The record is mid-tempo and filled with hooks. For fans of Discount and No Idea Records. It's all too tempting to compare this female-fronted pop-punk band to Discount or Tilt, but that would be selling them short because they have a wonderful and unique sound. Taking pop convention and adding in a very subtle pinch of a dance influence, they also add technical bass lines, which aren't usually present in pop-punk...I rarely fall for a band in such a rapid hook, line and sinker fashion as I have for Kit! They're just so damn irresistible. - Punk Planet #63 (notable review)

Florida's Asthma Atttaq returns with a new genre bending full-length. Having drawn comparisons as varied from Jerome's Dream to Hella to Yes, Asthma Atttaq takes the listener through a winding corridor of punk, noise, free jazz, post-rock and melds them together flawlessly from song to song. It's once in a great while I will get a real gem like this album. Asthma Attaq are a spazz rock band who at times sounds like Lightning Bolt and at other times sounds like the Blood Brothers. Being able to fuse many genres is definitely one of this bands strong points and they do it quite well.- Impact Press #59

Attractive and Popular {Money Equals Magic} LP
Attractive and Popular began as a 3-piece in Lafayette, LA. Eventually, the lineup was fleshed-out to include two more members and the band started touring the U.S. virtually non-stop. Their live shows are packed full of energy, ridiculous dance moves, popped-out veins, and far-flung sweat. Sporting their custom-tailored sleeveless uniforms complete with gold sparkling dollar signs, A$P make for quite an "eyegasm." Their sound has been compared to XBXRX, Numbers, Le Shok, and Anavan. Black Label/Champions of a Bleeding Heart {split} 7"
Champions of the Bleeding Heart, from Bakersfield, CA, featured members that figured in such bands as Shahrazad (who put out a split 10″ with Makara), The Acrylics, My Increment, and Vendetta Red. Their song on this split is flaming fast and loud. Black Label employs some sick guitar shredding coupled with some snotty vocals, though sound strangely like Ettil Vrye.

Bolz'n {Riemen} minidisc
From the Pony Hell website:
Bolz'n from germany play some kind of technoisegrind/mathcore/idon'tlikethatgenrething... maybe all what can be said is, that all of them have an attraction and ambition to make the perfect noise... they toured w/ White Mice and played some memorable shows at the Wasted festivals. you won't belive this band is female fronted, but that's not the point .. the point is "no down-the-line" in the attitude of the bad, so for example: the band used for recording Riemen only equipment from the 60's - 70's - 80's, formerly tuned stuff from the former german democratic republic. After they finished recording, they splitted up. Only 20 CD-Rs got in traffic. So we're very happy, that the band said yes to give Riemen a little second chance on minidisc. the record comes in a black wooden case with the front logo and very hard to find transparent silkscreen on the back. each of the record is hand numbered. Limted to 25 pieces.

Driven by the same ravenous hate and bloodthirsty brutality of Discordance Axis and Assuck, Burial Year are paving a new path straight through the filthy depths of today's decaying hardcore and metal compost pile. Pestilence is the most challenging and technical album Burial Year's members have released to date, featuring a rhythmic heavy foundation, complex metallic riffing, and politically charged words. The Bay Area's very own grind/noise masters lay on pummeling dual-bass so distorted and dismantled that it leaves you wondering how any instruments survived the recording. Carlisle {This Means Everything to Me - Discography} CD
Carlisle was one of the great Florida screamo bands from the mid-late 90's, combining thick, melodic, and very catchy music with passionate hair raising screamed vocals. They pioneered the sound and no one has done it better since. This discography has both 7"s, comp. songs, and demo, plus 13 new or unreleased songs, most of which were recorded just for this project. The new stuff is just as passionate and great as the old stuff. Imagine Christie Front Drive with the vocalist from Frail. It might sound like and odd match, but one that fits.

CLEANER / GANTZ - split CD (Japanese Version)
Cleaner is from Japan, forming a band with 1 vocal, 1 guitar, 1 drummer and 1 painter. All the songs are titled in japanese colors and the painter draws the atmospheric idea and picture that she sees on stage where the instrumental group performs such theme. Sounds are experimental and also formed tightly. sounds like ENVY, CONVERGE, HEADWAY, KULARA. Some of the members play in such bands as KILLIE and LHASA. Gantz is from France and has worked alot for the european scene by working their own label IMPURE MUZIK where the European version of this split CD is released by such label. Gantz has a close sound to PLAYING ENEMY and the extreme high tension of ENVY.

Cloud Rat {s/t} 7"
Heavy, blasting hardcore played mostly at a grinding pace, only slowing down to bludgeon you with crushing riffs. This record has an emotional honesty and intensity that is often lacking in bands this heavy, as the pained lyrics are spat out like so much venom. The lyrics deal with dark family issues of neglect and abandonment and the hurt is felt in the delivery, and as hard as they are to take, I feel they make the record all the more relevant. The packaging is made out of re-used record covers, screenprinted then re-glued, with a lyrics insert, all with original art from the band and friends. This is a split release with Otherwise Dead Records and Midwestern Decline Records.

DRUNK was formed by members of the punk/hardcore bands SO MUCH HATE and LIFE BUT HOW TO LIVE IT? in 1994. Both bands did numerous tours on the continent in the late 80's and early 90's. Among the true fans of punk and hardcore those old bands are still highly regarded. In 1996 the line-up in DRUNK was changed, and has stayed the same for more than ten years. DRUNK developed their own style without loosing their roots in punk. The music is dynamic and melodic, going from soft to hard at the flip of a coin, giving you a live show you would hate to miss. Eel {People People} CD
Vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Eel and programmer Sandou paint their songs with everything under the Eastern and Western suns, combining Puffy Amiyumi's fluffy, cheeky fun with the Dead Kennedys' aural assault and the brightly colored, bug-eyed vibe of fast-forwarded Tivo cartoons. For "People People", they hammer bowling pin strikes, cartoon cat meows, horse whinnies and other See and Say samples into a blues guitar and generic drum machine framework, while Eel sings the sort of lyrics that torture kids at Boy/Girl Scout camp ("oo ee, oo ah ah, zing zang walla, walla bing bang").

End of a year {Sincerely} LP
As part of the Albany music scene well known for its hardcore and metal, and veterans of heavy bands themselves, End Of A Year wanted to take it in a different direction. Inspired by the Revolution Summer period of the Washington, D.C. hardcore scene (ie. Rites Of Spring, Marginal Man, Gray Matter), End Of A Year decided that it is possible to be loud and honest while being tuneful. The music became a natural outgrowth of that position - melodic and, at times, pleasant but always gritty and married to a punk sensibility.

Fuck the Facts {Mullet Fever} CD
This re-release of the 41 short and bizarre tracks that comprise Mullet Fever gives fans a good insight into exactly how Topon Das’ early noise grind influenced the current embodiment of Fuck the Facts. With a few more releases under their belt, this look back to their roots makes it easy to trace their penchant for spastic while working mostly within a slightly longer, more structured plague metal approach. At times it seems the album may have been constructed purely to elaborate some humorous song titles, but for the most part it’s a very unique take on caustic grinding clamour. Random samples, talking moments and near jazz interludes are woven into feverish, bone crushing sonic cacophony. Each track pushes boundaries in its own way, whether it be by throwing in a couple hip-hop tracks, some random ambient techno moments, reconstructing a few samples from Master of Puppets, or including crudely delivered sing-along, proclaiming “we’ve got mullet fever.”

Gameness / Amen Ra / Gantz / Vuur {4-way split} CD
This 4 way split CD features some of the most promising bands from Belgium and France.

GAMENESS delivers sweet chaos. Energic screamo sung in French the way we love. The band assumes finally his passion for a hardcore called screaming emo, a music with intenses part; chaotics with some lulls.

AMEN RA is what we could describe as pure chaos. The melodies of doom, mixed with the tragedy of noisecore. Pure emotion entered the dark way of life to emerged as a spark of energy well driven by their passion they capture together into their chaoscore. Some have compared them to bands like ISIS or CULT OF LUNA. So you know what to expect then!

GANTZ plays a dark and intense music leaving free court with its emotions. The crystalline arpeggios succeed the chaotic hammerings to give life to pieces melancholic persons being able like BREACH, ENVY, ISIS. The texts are very personal, drawn from the everyday life, and various experiments, imbroglio of feelings and perpetual questionings on becoming it of humanity....

VUUR play powerful raging manic screaming ultra-emotional melodies. For the name-droppers: most people tend to compare us with a chaotic mix of REVERSAL OF MAN, ACME, DROP DEAD, RORSCHACH, a bit of MÖRSER and some BORN AGAINST thrown in between.Whatever. Structured & pissed chaos rules, so to speak.

Gauge Means Nothing/My Precious {split} CD
Two forces of nature converge in this split CD. Singapore's My Precious blasts through their three tracks, effortlessly pushing passion and love through their instruments. Their earlier sound of dark screamo is complemented by much more dynamic transitions. Gauge Means Nothing returns to the studio and records their best three songs to date. Their sound is much more rocking, practically dropping any remnant of metal they once held in their music.

Gerda {s/t} CD
Covered in a thick layer of darkness, the music of Gerda is rock right out of the mine: crude, which skins and scrapes. Noisy, virulent, unceasingly in anger; this hardcore is extreme and aggressive, full of blackness. You'd have to come closer to notice an infinity of nuances. Seven tracks which whip, lacerate and leave you at the pithead. This one is far from the usual tricks, all comes from the belly.

Ghost Mice {Collection One of the Fairy War} LP
Ghost Mice is a two-piece folk-punk band from Bloomington, Indiana. Both members, Chris Johnston (aka Chris Clavin) and Hannah Jones, have been in a handful of pop-punk bands together: namely Disarm, The Devil is Electric and Operation: Cliff Clavin. They decided to "turn to the folk side" in the hopes that they could tour more easily and play almost anywhere, and to this end Hannah changed from playing bass to violin. This album is a compilation of all the songs off their early splits.

Gods and Queens {Untitled #3} 7"
Gods and queens from philly deliver us a new four songs ep, sticking to the foundation laid by their previous releases, yet keeping on with their usual mix of mid paced, angular, bass driven songs, combined with caustic, disilluded, confusing lyrics and noisy laden guitars, all shrinked into shorter, louder bursts and packed into a fancy 7" record.

Graf Orlock {Destination Time Tomorrow} CD
"Destination Time Tomorrow" is the second installment of Graf Orlock's time bending cinemagrind trifecta, based on an array of cloudily interconnected storylines. Containing all of the latent brutality and anger present in Graf Orlock's 2006 release, "Destination Time Yesterday," this 8 song CDEP kicks up the confrontation meter, registering near inflammatory in the realm of requisite nihilism and undeserved sarcasm. "Destination Time Tomorrow" is being released in support of a spring 2007 European tour and continues the so-called "racket" of intensity and life affirming violence synonymous with Graf Orlock.

Haram {s/t} LP
Few current acts can match the intensity and vibrancy of Haram. The latest addition to the Lovitt Records roster, Haram's members boast an impressive hardcore pedigree, a resume that spans a decade and over 1000 shows between the individual members with stints in Majority Rule, PG. 99, and The Out_Circuit. The band first assembled in Summer 2004 and played their first show in January 2005 to coincide with the release of their demo, which they put out themselves. Since then, Haram has toured with critically acclaimed acts, such as Envy and Darkest Hour. Haram Comprises seasoned veterans whose foray into territory most reminiscent of Drive Like Jehu and Sonic Youth is informed by the urgent ferocity of their previous bands. Jim Siegel recorded their first, Self-Titled LP, in Stoughton, Massachusetts. On this spectacular debut, Haram mines disparate facets of punk and noise to conjure something wholly cohesive and engaging. Matt Michel and Mike Taylor's dual guitars roil and churn, while Kevin Lamiell and Andy Gale form a kinetic and explosive rhythm section on bass and drums, respectively. Unrelenting and forward, Haram possesses a mature, tempered confidence that only comes with experience and do-it-yourself resolve. Their first full-length effort is truly a moody and atmospheric masterpiece. Kevin Lamiell amicably left Haram shortly after the completion of the album, but longtime friend Jeff Kane (ex-City Of Caterpillar, Malady) quickly learned Lamiell's parts and has blended into the group seamlessly.

Honeyhander {Woolly Mannerisms}CDEP
Woolly Mannerisms poigantly evokes the resonance of a cascading culture. In just under 23 minutes of what is this gorgeous amalgamation of clatter, Honeyhander's debut ep deactivates and rebuilds new wave, arouses the comatose dream pop, and flirts with a fascination of complication all while channeling only their own movement. On Woolly Mannerisms the quintet (featuring ex-members of A Trillion Barnacle Lapse and As The Sun Sets) fabricates endless deposits of guitars over a small army of synths, visceral live drumming, and charged vocals so organically the transition is virtually seamless. Try to imagine a bloody mix of My Bloody Valentine and Public Image Ltd, all soaked in dark electronica. Lyrically speaking, the record emerges to be a breakup with or out of the limitations of society while fusing more urgent relationships in the process. It is five kids take on what pop music should and could be. It is the soundtrack to the most beautiful and complicated day of your life. It is their movement. It is your movement.

Jenji {s/t} CD
Jenji takes a raw, unpolished approach to punk that has almost been lost amidst the countless numbers of over-produced, auto-tuned, TRL-aspiring pop punk bands. The songs are melodic, and the vocals of lead singer Jen are snotty, humorous, and in your face. It has been noted that Jenji's shrill, stripped down, full-volume live performance can bring ears to the bleeding point, but for some reason the gut-level melodies and incessant rhythms make it feel so good. With influences ranging from Screeching Weasel, to The Ramones, and Bikini Kill and a completely live, energetic, and unadorned approach to recording, those who prefer their punk real, raw, and catchy.

Madeline ferguson/Bury me standing {split} CD
Bury Me Standing come back one last time with 6 songs that were recorded shortly before their demise. Imagine the brutal metallic hardcore with brains and conscience they were making before, but throw a lot more chaos into the sound. Male and female vocals that are absolutely insane (but beautiful when they need to be), truly hammering rythyms, and all out insanity. Madeline Ferguson is also back with a new 5-piece lineup that bears little resemblance to the 3-piece lineup on their previous CD. A much more energetic and diverse sound, still as urgent and frantic as before, but with more of an Iron Maiden influence showing up amongst the rocking and screaming. Being emotional never sounded so frightening.

Marah-Mar {s/t} CD
Delicate cello lines gain momentum until they burst apart at the seams, textural noises are pealed away exposing an underlying song, guitars collid in a wide stereo field to cascade and weave together. These are amongst the most apt descriptions of Marah-Mar's self titled debut album, a collection of songs as memorable for their mood and atmosphere as they are for their melodic counterpoints. Elements gleaned from electronic music, instrumental groups such as Dirty Three, Tortoise, Explosions in the Sky, and GSBYE!, as well as a vast body of psych rock, jazz, and chamber music all contribute to an aesthetic that dazzles the ears and entices the imagination. Marah-Mar recorded in the capable hands of Tucker Burns, a talented engineer whose sstudio built in an abandoned church provided the perfect atmosphere to capture the group's expansive sound. This is music that rewards the listener who can lost themselves in the epic sounds and the cinematic imagery that Marah-Mar skillfully creates.

Holy shit - total HC assault on both sides. HD kills it with their old school 2 man grind approach, though they add lots of diverse influences to this release, making it a total aural punisher. Mörser {Pure Scum} LP
I don't think the Germans of Mörser need an introduction. Their first 2 full lengths 2 Hours To Doom and 10.000 Bad Guys Dead became cult albums and since then they've built a steady fanbase worldwide. It's been a while since they released something new though. In 2002 they released the mini cd Scum, the soundtrack for a comic with the same title. They were supposed to release another soundtrack for a comic called Pure but this release got postponed until it didn't get released at all. Now there is Pure Scum, which contains 5 new tracks (the songs meant for the comic Pure and 4 re-mastered songs (from the sold out comic Scum). On to the songs. This still has the trademark Mörser sound. It's heavy, mean, brutal and 100% metal and the two singers still grunt and scream like madmen. So nothing really changed since their last full length album 10.000 Bad Guys Dead. The new Pure songs have a better production than the old ones, which doesn't make them sound less brutal.

Mr. Blanding's Dreamhouse {s/t} CD
MBD plays a type of indie rock that is emotional and fearless. Female fronted vocals, with male vocals backing up and taking the lead from time to time, supported by capable druming, clean and distorted guitars and driving bass work. Not afaird to rock out or slow it down a bit MBD shaped what they called "apple-core" or what others called "cuddle-punk into 3 minute plus long tunes about relationship woes and growing up and apart. The band first formed during the tumultuos years of highschool and toured a number of times after graduating with bands like House of Large Sizes and the Bent Scepters. The band decided to call it quits after nearly 7 years together. Members of this band went on to form other bands in Iowa City and regionally but MBD still holds a special place in the hearts of all who were involved over the years.

Noah's Apathy is like a machine gone mad. Just when you think you have them figured out, they completely change the settings. 2004's, "The Pacific" left everyone singing the songs for months. Now, they're back with seven pounding tracks of riff heavy fury. Sure, you might know the words to the chorus, but what about the bridge?! Anyone with a solid taste in music can and will enjoy this band!

Old Scratch Revival Singers {Oh Didnt He Ramble} LP
Beginning as a documentation of descent into hopelessness within the walls of a haunted house, Oh, Didn't He Ramble is the forthcoming debut release from The Old Scratch Revival Singers. The project was begun to explore the ideas and moods of the ex-Heart Attacks (now All Rattle and Dust {Eyeball Records}). Since the inception, new ideas and additional members have flourished into a lively seven piece entity featuring the guitar, banjo/trumpet, accordion/organ, violin/viola, clarinet, bass viol, and percussion accompanied by the voices of every member of the band. The music of the Old Scratch Revival Singers is not far from its Iowa roots, containing elements of cow-punk, bluegrass, ragtime, and gospel with a propensity for darkness, superstition, and old time religion. The Old Scratch Revival Singers provides themes of damnation in this world, and of salvation in the next.(Ltd Gatefold/Skin Colored Vinyl)

The Only Ghost in Town {The Summer Was Over Before it Began} cassette
Every release I do is an absolute labor of love but this release definitely holds a special place in my heart. The Only Ghost in Town is a solo project by my friend Dan who is better known for holding down the low end in the excellent New Jersey based indie rock band By Surprise. Dan and I started exchanging emails back and forth discussing our mutual interest various indie rock and indie pop bands as well the aesthetic of lo fi culture. After awhile he let me know about this little project he had been cooking up. Within the first 15 seconds of the song "Like Candy" I was absolutely hooked on every fuzzy guitar note and reverb soaked vocal melody. And with each subsequent song that he sent me it just got better and better. To the point where I told him I had to release the songs in some manner on Rok Lok. We discussed it and felt that the cassette format would be ideal for this music. Personally, it brings me back to my roots of getting interested in DIY music by consuming Shrimper Records tape releases. The Only Ghost in Town plays super infectious lo fi indie pop/shoegaze that is in the vein of bands like Further, The Summer Hits, Drop Nineteens, Veronica Lake and Jesus & Mary Chain. Short bursts of fuzzed out pop tunes that begs multiple replays. This pro duped tape is imprinted on white clam shells and packed in beautiful full color artwork. Limited to 100 pieces. - Rok Lok Records

Panzram {Reform} 10"
Panzram plays angry, ugly HC deep down in FL. They play in a genre populated by bands like Walls, Pollution, or Drugs of Faith, where the sound is rooted in HC and punk, but is definitely not traditional, with lyrics focusing on humanity's dark underbelly. Downtuned, noisy riffs, seething vocals, and the odd hint of post punk round out the sound. The record is packaged in a handmade envelope style jacket with nice screenprinting.

Positive Noise/Xtra Vomit {split} 7"
this split is a pissed off piece of plastic from start to finish. Positive Noise blazes through with thick heavy HC and a never give up attitude. Xtra Vomit now has a live drummer and you are not ready for what happened. Pained lyrics struggling to find hope and meaning rage over grinding never-let-up HC. A heavier Ottawa might be a good starting point. This release is screenprinted on hand cut waste paper. Using less resources is important in punk. Let's scavenge then create.

Quest of Quasar {Nok-tur-nal} Cassette
This is pretty much what you might get if you mix some His Hero Is Gone/Uranus dark and heavy type of hardcore with some French scream/emo. It is heavy, dark and emotive with just a little bit of metal thrown in the mix. It is a pretty volatile mix of modern hardcore and will serve as a good soundtrack for the upcoming apocalypse. No joke. You don’t play this to get the people dancing happily on the dance floor. You play this to get people all pumped up about the end of this fucked up world. With all the bullshit that happening around us, who wouldn’t get pumped about the Armageddon? - Dead Pigs Zine

Three fifths of the mighty To Dream of Autumn carry the torch into 2004, but those expecting a sound that simply picks up where TDOA left off should prepare to be blown away. Good shit.

Ripshit/Dylan Bredeau {split} 7"
HARDCORE/PUNK. The addition of Fred from FIRST STEP and FIRED UP on drums has helped hone RIPSHIT's craft and send them soaring to new heights. They come into a sound of their own moreso on this record, but only expand on the venom and energy that made their last effort so great. Dylan Bredeau are vaguely folky, vaguely poppy, vaguely emoey, and very punky. They are a unique, powerful, moving band. If you dig bands like LATTERMAN you should try them!

Ripshit/The Offsides {split} 7"
Spicy Soup Productions (SSP)! presents The Ripshit and Offsides split 7". Both bands are female fronted hardcore from CT. Ripshit combines elements of thrash, crust and youth crew for a sound all their own. They've garnered comparisons to DRI and Haymaker. Offsides is super-pissed 7 Seconds-style hardcore with a lot of inventive musical twists and a veritable hurricane of a singer. Did I mention that they share a member with Fired Up? Collectively the bands tackle issues close to their hearts and applicable to the larger world like work, education, punk and relationships gone sour on the 8 anthems contained on this slab. Beautiful packaging, DIY ethics, awesome hc tunes, what more do you need?

The Spirit of Versailles {The Confluence of All of the Senses} CD
I found some of these CDs cleaning out a closet the other day and talk about a trip down memory lane. This CD was self-released to coincide with thier first tour. At the time, the Spirit of Versailles were a non-typical straightedge band, heavily influenced by Frail. They rode the wave of mid/late 90's emo (before the term "screamo" was popularized) along with Reversal of Man, Orchid, Portrait, and Jerome's Dream. Definitely an essential listen from the time period, which I always felt made a nice bookend to Reversal of Man's "Revolution Summer". Tanner their guitarist at the time now plays in Across Tundras.

Stars Are Insane {So. I Dreamed of Noise} 4xCD-R
In 2006 Stars Are Insane remastered and reissued all four out of print tape releases plus an album's worth of unreleased and live material as the four cd-r set of "So. I Dreamed of Noise". This offering here on Band Camp is the fourth disc of previously unreleased/live material from that collection. Stars Are Insane is a long running 4 track home recording project that was started in 1998 by Mike Andriani of Yes Sensei/Dude Japan that has mixed the lo fi sincere acoustic melodic-ism of early Sebadoh with the noisy, shoegazing guitar drones of My Bloody Valentine to create something rather unique. Predominantly a solo project with scattered accompaniment throughout the discography. Influenced by Shrimper Records, K Records, field recordings, collages and tape trading.

Talk Hard/Radical Attack {split} 7"
This is Talk Hard from Boston's second release. Their debut, the ‘Sarah Connor's Will’ 7" received tremendous critical acclaim for the intense and wonderfully intelligent lyrics. These three songs are a bit more metallic than on their debut, but still heavy hitting and they continue to write some of the best lyrics in hardcore today. This is Radical Attack's, from Quebec, second release as well. Their first being a split cd with Maine's Never Say Die. These five tracks are faster, more hardcore, and much better than their debut.

Tar...Feathers {Make Way For The Ocean Floor To Fall To The Surface} CD
Make Way For The Ocean Floor consists of 10 well-crafted songs with a wonderful vibe of lo-fi and d.i.y aesthetics. Add some hints of The Head On The Door-era The Cure to that and you may be close!

Tigon {s/t} 7"
"Difficult. That's another apt word for this jarring, noisy blast of hardcore. There's hints of Botch's frantic angularity in here (check the dizzying intro to "Monarch"), but Tigon is slower and a little muddier, while the vocals actually resemble a consistently intense version of Ian Svenonius during the NOU days. Their frontman is, after all, a seemingly spastic and raw-voiced frontman with a coarse delivery that occasionally hinges on hoarse screams." punknews.org

Violentbreakfast {Nient'Altro Che Tempo} LP (Bent Corner)
Italian screamo-violence in the vain of La Quiete and Raein. Raw, melodic, and anthemic at times, this record is phenomenal for such a short lived band (2003-2008).

*Note: This is a new record, but the cover was bent in shipping. Mint jams, but might not be acceptable for collector nerds.

Witches With Dicks {Manual} CD
Witches With Dicks sounds like a band named on a dare and they probably were. Nevertheless, they have a better chance of upping the ante for punk rock in 2007 then any of their cautiously named counterparts. The intelligent yet snotty anthems on their debut album, Manual, should silence any doubt. Loosely influenced by bands like Screeching Weasel, The Replacements, Jawbreaker, and The Lemonheads, they have scratched their own niche in the Boston punk scene with the help of other local bands/friends such as Ringers, Conversions, and Lock And Key.

YMCK {Family Music} CD
Japan's YMCK fashion their music from devices that granted polyphony to the Commodore 64 (SID Chip) and the Super Nintendo, but they aren't just another trio of Gameboy aficionados hoping to ride a gimmick for inclusion on Music for Games, Volume Ten. They are composers, first and foremost, who happen to love these sounds and know how to use them.
